A funny thing happened on the way to the LW ART League. My header title was inspired by this couple as we listened to Chopin, Clair deLune, Send in the Clowns, music from Cats, Yusef Lateef, and Bethhooven not sure which one, he wrote 99 of them. An amazing hour was spent listening to pianist Robin Arrigo, before I could tear myself away and go about my day.
There for all to enjoy sits this painted piano in front of PBCultural Counci,l corner of L st and Lake Ave. downtown Lake Worth. What a delight. Open all your windows turn of the AC and listen for the next week to talented pianists who are scheduled to perform. You too, if you want and can are allowed to play. Part of the Keys to the City project. As I sat enthralled my husband kept telling people to keep quiet “were here to listen to the music” LOL.
It got better, what a thrill. Xavier Garcia, Veterinary by day and opera singer by night. came by and sang for the passing audience, Dulcinea, The Impossible Dream and more. Life is good in quirky Lake Worth. The schedule is below so you also can enjoy the schedule for the rest of the week. If you’ve not had the privilege of hearing live music like this add this to your bucket list. My suggestion is schedule your lunch hour to be at this location also a folding chair would be helpful. I have dibbies on the bench :). Last time I heard music like this I was laying in bed listening to my sister as she got up daily around 6 a.m.to play on her baby grand. Nice memories this evoked. The painted piano is just one of several in this project. Was told that most of them can be seen in the glass house in West Palm Beach. Check out the other locations and their schedule. There are 18 painted pianos!
Schedule tomorrow noon to 1 p.m. enjoy Dave Crohan. at the piano. Then Saturday three performances 10-11, 1 – 2 with a choir, 4 -5 p.m.
That’s my vet Dr. Garcia (El Cid Animal Clinic), the best vet ever, super awesome nice guy and great singer too.
